Light Fixture Overhaul







My most bizarre house re-do to date!  Lol...actually, wrapping my hideous, outdated, red brick fireplace in wrapping paper is probably my most bizarre re-do.  (I will post pics on that project soon!  Stay tuned, I can safely say I've never, ever, seen anyone decorate their fireplace this way!  You'll either love it, or think I am the most ridiculous person ever)  At any rate, as we all know, necessity is the mother of invention, (is that how it goes?) and it was extremely necessary that I don't have to stare at that hideous fireplace every again!  So, back to the point...another atrocious assault against my aesthetic senses, was the 1980's, brown and brass, globe style "chandelier" over the dining room table.  I laugh to myself calling it a "chandelier," as I love chandelier's and it actually ruins the beautiful association of dripping crystals, and soft glowing lights, that I have with that word...anyway, what was, in fact, over my dining room table, prior to my bizarre re-do, can only be categorized as one of life's true mockery's...I swear, everyday, I would look at it, and cringed as it silently laughed at me and everything I stood for...in the end, though, I covered that puppy from head to toe in wallpaper samples, ribbon, jewelry, and Christmas ornaments.  Haha, take that..."chandelier."  Now, every time I look at it, instead of cringing, I just wonder if I've lost all all my design sensibilities....not to mention, my ever slipping sanity.  Lol.  I mean really, is it worse now?  Am I nuts?  However, I have actually received compliments on it...while I'm not sure if I was, again being mocked, I've decided that crazy or not, it's gotta be better then before...I haven't finished it yet, I need little lampshades for the bulbs (obviously), and I'm waiting for the crystals I ordered on eBay, because it's begging to be blingged out..or would that be "blungged" out?
